“Hold On Tight”
Artwork by Zambian artist Mwamba Mulangala
“He is rooted in an African cosmos but his work exerts universal appeal. His African raw surroundings influence the vibrancy of color, richness of texture, spirit in depth and solidity of form in his paintings whether elaborate or symbolic.”
My mother carried all of us this way, and so do many other African women. When my little sister was born, I insisted on carrying her around with me in this manner. Ngl, she was the cutest and most amazing baby I’d ever come across.
